We went to see You’re Next at the cinema last night and it was so good! Until the end that is.
The beginning horrified me as you’re led to believe its just your standard home invasion movie where an innocent family is tortured and killed in their own home and those films really creep me out! So it was a refreshing twist when the girl who turns out to be the main character started to fight back.
I love a bad ass girl in a horror movie, probably because most horror films portray women as the weak ones who get picked off first. So you can imagine my joy, (more so my relief) when Erin started kicking ass. It turns out she grew up in a survivalist camp.
She continues to kick ass all the way through the film even when she finds out that the whole night was a conspiracy for one of the brothers to kill off his parents and inherit their fortune. She solves this problem by killing the brother and his girlfriend. As you would.
However, at the very last minute when you think she’s made it the dead brother’s phone starts ringing and its her boyfriend who left the house to get help earlier in the night. He ultimately confesses that he was in on it, not knowing it’s Erin on the other end of the phone. Awkward! So he comes back in to the house to find her still alive holding his brothers phone in one hand with a knife in the other. To cut a long story short he tries to blag her and she stabs him in the neck. Good girl!
So all is well and she’s survived. Then BAM, she gets shot in the shoulder by the police. What a shit ending! It’s like they didn’t know how to end it so they thought, “Fuck it shoot her, the end.” I mean paying £17 for a hot dog and nachos was bad enough but then for the film to end like that! This is just not acceptable guys. I demand a sequel right now!
Today I saw a comment on one of myignorantyouth's instagram posts about Macklemore's video for 'Same Love' and it really annoyed me.
Kate was saying how the video was cute and this is a segment from one of the comments that followed, ‘…making money off of the LGBT community as a straight guy isn’t something to be praised for though…’
(I would like to highlight the fact that I am not picking on the girl who wrote this comment and I understand everyone has their own opinions).
I hadn’t actually seen the video before I saw this and it was the comment alone that caught my attention.
The commenter was basically saying that someone who identifies as straight can’t release a song about gay rights.
To me a straight person releasing a song about gay rights means more than a member of the LGBT community releasing a song about gay rights. Isn’t that what we’re fighting for? Acceptance and equality from the ‘straight people.’ I really do feel like if we stopped separating ourselves from the rest of the world then we’d be more likely to succeed. Shouldn’t we give straight people who stand up for OUR rights and risk being ridiculed by the haters a pat on the back? If everyone was a little more like that then there would be no homophobia at all.
If all that isn’t enough to prove my point then here are some facts about the song and Macklemore:

Are these real? Amazing!
My favourite Ladies shoes from their collection have to be their studded hi tops from Keddo. They also have some of the cutest flats I’ve seen in a while. They’re definitely worth a look!
Another stand we really loved at Moda was the Analpa stand. They’re an American footwear company which I’m told are relatively new to the UK. The guys on the stand were lovely and we even bagged a free Betsy lipstick pen! Score.
Men’s footwear is secretly my favourite. Being a size 7 I always wear Men’s trainers because there’s a much wider range. Think I could get away with a pair of these awesome brogues?

Ladies to follow…
Last week I lost my Moda virginity!
We ended up going on Tuesday which was the last day so there wasn’t much happening or many people around but it meant we could walk around in peace and talk to some cool people.
One of my favourite stands was the T.U.K stand. Their Spring ‘14 range consists of mostly creepers which I LOVE because they have every print imaginable. Of course the Nebula ones drew my attention!
Another great thing about T.U.K Creepers is that they’re Unisex and are available in US sizes 3-13. The quality is exceptional too. No flat slippery bottoms or foam! Score.
Here are a few pictures I took of their lines.
So I got this waterproofing fabric care spray from Footlocker called ‘Ultra Protector’ the other day when I bought new Converse and I’m going to put it to the test.
It’s made for Footlocker themselves and it costs £5.99. It claims to repel dirt and make your shoes completely waterproof. Amazing huh? It’s suitable for use on pretty much all shoes, (except patent leather); hats; backpacks and outerwear. Also, the guy in the store tells me you only need to reapply every 3 weeks.
I’ll post a photo of my Converse as they are now and then post another photo of them in two weeks. I would say one week but I’m working a lot at the minute and won’t get to wear them very often.
So happy to pick the paper up and see this! Well done Chloe! Hope you enjoy Disneyland :) xxxxx
